Training Camp Notebook: 4/1/26 - Look Out For The Wolfpack

The Wolfpack are getting closer to a Friday scrimmage and closer to kickoff. We've reached April, which means we'll see live football very, very soon! Head Coach JR Wells is watching iron sharpen iron as their competitive training continues. I spoke with him about a new member of the Pack, a veteran wide receiver, and the energy on the field.
New Fullback Signing
The Wolfpack welcomed the newest member of their pack in fullback Undra Hendrix. Hendrix brings plenty of experience and toughness to the Pack. I asked Coach Wells what he could tell me about him as a player.
"His alias is Wrecking Ball," Coach Wells said of Hendrix. "One of those guys that can plug the A-Gaps but also one of those dangerous guys that you can hand the ball to, get him in space, and he'll run somebody over."
Keeping The Energy
One of the toughest things in any form of training is keeping the energy going. Everybody is excited in those first couple of days, but the competitiveness and energy have to be maintained at high levels for the team to succeed. That's something JR said the team has done very well.
"These guys are all bought in," he said. "To each other, to the system, to the program, to the build, to all the things we're doing here. The culture and the standard is live. They're competitive, they're grinding, and they believe in what's happening. They hear the noise around the league about the Wolfpack, and they're ready to silence some of that."
Aakiel Greer
When Coach Wells and I first met to talk about Washington Wolfpack football before training started, one of the first guys he talked about was AG (Aakiel Greer). He pointed out that he was a guy who perfectly fit the culture he was building and would set the standard for the team. Coach confirmed that's exactly what AG has done this first week and a half.
"I can't tell you how much I appreciate him. He's almost like my son," Coach said. "He's bought in, and he does all the right things. He asks the right questions. Most importantly, he leads the guys forward in the culture. It's important that you weave it all together, and it's having guys like AG holding that standard and holding the other guys accountable to the standard. I can see that every day, and I'm beyond appreciative of him.
