This Washington Wolfpack team has been grinding through training camp. It’s been a physical, emotional, tough experience. Competition has been intense and now, it’s time to reward the fellas for their hard work. On Saturday Coach JR Wells surprised the team with a team building day.
Team Building
JR Wells knows he and his coaching staff have been working these guys hard and that’s all going to pay off for the Wolfpack when the AF1 season gets underway. But a major part of what Wells is doing here is building great culture, great comradery, and a family. He had the players show up, no pads, no helmets, just shorts and shirts. Do some dynamic workouts, get the lactic acid out. Then it’s all about team building.
He paired up receivers and defensive backs. Offensive and defensive lineman, quarterbacks and linebackers. Taking them back to the basic days at school and having fun. The goal was a loose day to build team chemistry. They team ran relays, sprint races, wheelbarrow races. Things to keep the competitive juices flowing and bring the team together. After that the team took a hike together, with the evening cultivating in a fire on Mukilteo Beach. They barbecued for the team, tossed the football around, played games, and hung out getting to know each other better off the football field.
