Wolfpack Nation, welcome former NFL player Javier Edwards to Washington. Edwards, a native of Houston, Texas, is the son of Jose Lara and Regina Edwards. He attended Benjamin O. Davis High School in Houston. Edwards comes from an athletic family. His uncle Larry Woods played in the NFL for six seasons. His Cousin Vernon Edwards played for the San Diego Chargers, and his brother Alonzo played both football and basketball at Nebraska.

Javier began his college career at Blinn Junior College.  In eight games for the Buccaneers, he recorded 24 tackles, two sacks, and 3.5 tackles for loss. Edwards then joined the Colorado Buffaloes, where he spent the final two years of his eligibility. Edwards played in 23 games for the Big 12 school, amassing 61 tackles, 2.5 sacks, and a forced fumble.

Edwards spent time with both the Arizona Cardinals and his hometown Houston Texans of the NFL. Edwards was asked about stats; his reply was simple: “No fun stats, just a guy in the trenches.” The big man is ready to plug up the middle of the Wolfpack defense in 2026. Off the field, Edwards is a music enthusiast and loves to DJ.
