Meet the Wolfpack: Evan Byrd - Kicker

Evan Byrd - Kicker 

6'5" 170lbs

Wolfpack, welcome Evan Byrd to the team! The “Alabama Hammer” is a huge addition to the Wolfpack's special teams. In Arena Football One, the kickers play an even bigger role in the overall game. Byrd was born in Lexington, Alabama, and attended Lexington High School. Byrd isn’t “just a kicker,” he’s an elite athlete. Byrd was ranked in the top 100 in the country and top 5 in the state of Alabama in the 110m Hurdles in High School. 

Byrd went about an hour down the road from Lexington to Huntsville, Alabama, where he attended Alabama A&M and played his college football for the Bulldogs. Before continuing his journey in football, Byrd paused and joined the United States Air Force. (Fun fact: Byrd isn’t the only military veteran on our team!) Byrd has played for the Arkansas Punishers, Corpus Christi Tritons, and Arkansas Storm. Giving him plenty of indoor kicking experience and a good depth of knowledge for Arena Football One’s kicking rules. Evan also has his pilot's license, so when he isn’t kicking footballs, you might just see him flying by!
