Donte Reed returns to the Wolfpack for the 2026 season. Reed, who knows how to leave a quick impression, hails from Chicago Heights. The son of Ronnie Reed and Victoria Mayweathers, Reed starred at Thornton Fractional North High School in Calumet City, IL. Not only did he star in football, where he was a team captain, but he was also a state qualifier in wrestling, and ran track and field, specializing in the 110m hurdles and discus throw as well. 

Reed attended Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan. There, he proved his leadership and discipline both on and off the field, where he was named to the Athletic Director's Honor Roll (term GPA 3.5+) for Fall 2020 (4.00), Fall 2021, and Fall 2023. He was named to the Coach's Honor Roll (term GPA 3.0-3.49) for Winter 2022 and Fall 2022. Reed also served on the WSU Student-Athlete Leadership Council and earned many more academic excellence awards.

Reed finished his college career at Mississippi Valley State University, where he recorded 43 tackles and four sacks as a senior. Reed made an immediate impact when he joined the Wolfpack last year. In his first career game as a professional, Reed snagged two interceptions. Off the field, Reed is passionate about training and helping younger athletes develop their strength and confidence.
