Abu Bangura - Defensive Line

Abu Bangura II joins the Washington Wolfpack after playing for the Oregon Lightning in 2025. Bangura is an elite run-stuffing defender. No opposing rusher has ever crossed the 100-yard mark when Abu is on the other side. Bangura was born in Baltimore, Maryland, but played his high school football at Stockbridge High School in Georgia. 

After starting his career on the offensive side of the ball on the offensive line and at tight end, he settled into his natural role as a run-stopping defensive lineman. When Bangura was a junior and senior, he led his team to back-to-back state semifinal appearances as a team captain. After spending the majority of his career at Florida A&M University, Abu finished his senior year at the University of West Georgia. Bangura spent time as a defensive line coach for the Georgia Knights Prep Academy before joining the Oregon Lightning in 2025. Bangura brings his elite run-stopping abilities to Washington in 2026 and is excited to be a part of what the Wolfpack are building!
